Location is wonderful. Bellhops were great. Check in was not ok as I had requested a king bed and they gave me a double bed. Front desk staff was not apologetic.

The good: The hotel staff was very kind - the gentleman in the gift shop was friendly and helpful! The young woman that cleaned our room the first day was especially sweet - we even ran into her in the elevator the next day and she remembered us by room number! "Oh, it's the ladies from room XXXX!" It was so nice of her to remember. The men at the door were wonderful and helped us to feel safe while in the hotel. Could have been better: The room was nice, but there were tears in the carpet and stains on the lamp shades. The drain in the bathtub was broken and it would not drain while we were taking a shower - the water came up above our ankles and took forever to drain once we got out of the shower. The description of the view from the room was kind of misleading - it said ball drop view, and technically we could see PART of the ball and a sliver of Times Square from our window. I would have expected a much better view for the price that we paid for the room.

The check-in staff was extraordinarily helpful and attentive. Our major complaint was that we were changed from a room with two doubles to a room with a king and a trundle bed. In principle, that sounded fine, but the trundle bed was not adult-sized, so my legs hung off the end. It also was extremely uncomfortable, with coils and lumps pushing through the mattress. It felt like camping!
