The food was awful and horribly overpriced. I got a Cesar salad that had powdered Parmesan on lettuce. Powdered instead of sliced or grated. $22. A glass of iced tea that was also from powder $7. No refill even. The lobby and rooms were not very clean. Musty smell too.

Beautiful Hotel, modern. Room made me feel like I was in a Flat in Paris! Boutique Style rooms , Nice Kitchenette feature ,small balcony which I enjoyed having my coffee while looking over the city.

Great Staff; Not good state of the building itself

Location: It's a good location
Here's the good news: the staff is uniformly helpful, pleasant, prompt and kind. They were great. But the hotel itself needs a lot of work. In the first room they gave us, the room temperature could not be adjusted down from its 78 degrees until a facilities worker came up and fixed it. Then in the middle of the night, it was 66 degrees and we couldn't get the thermostat to work. It didn't work period. We ended up having very hot air blowing in the room, and had to open the window (in freezing outside temperatures) to get the room to be acceptable. So it was very hot on one side of the room, freezing on the other side. Thankfully, the hotel moved us to another room. It was a better room. But in the second room, the bed groaned with every toss, turn and movement (which they fixed the next morning, although I don't know what they did to fix it); the shower door leaked so much that the floor flooded, and our only solution was to aim the shower head against the other wall; and the refrigerator in the room (which was nice to have) had a very loud motor that kept turning on and off, sometimes in the middle of the night. The rooms have a small kitchen set up in the room, which we appreciated, and the room was very clean. We really liked the location of the hotel. But all in all, we wouldn't stay here again until they make major changes to the hotel itself, and we would never recommend it to others until that occurs.

Definitely Not A 5 Star

Travelocity's rating has this hotel at 5 stars. Park Ave address, but only a high 3 star due to aesthetics of lobby. Here is where Mamara missed its mark: 1. Bathroom floor floods when showering due to bad design and no shower barrier. (Terrible to stand in a huge puddle of water post showering) 2. No iron/board in room. Iron board sent to room had no padding. 3. Floor hallways filled with cigarette smoke (hotel is non smoking) 4. No one available, +21, or able to make mimosa's at lobby bar at noon on a Saturday? Had to have front desk track down employee.
