My stay in this hotel was a very pleasant experience. The hotel is well maintained, and their cleaning practices are phenomenal. Excellent customer service, every employee I interacted with was professional and courteous. The rooms are basic, but they met the expectations. Parking is very convenient, I never had any trouble finding a spot to park. I also loved their breakfast, which included eggs, beans, tortilla chips, salsa, sweet bread, fruit, and other items; you could also request toast or tortillas, and they bring them to you. Overall, I loved One Oaxaca Centro Hotel!

In Oaxaca, not bad for the price

Pros: 1. The free breakfasts were great. A big selection for a small buffet setup, Mexican oriented, of course, but very good. Much fruit.
Cons: Fixing stuff--e.g., the blow dryer didn't work. More English speakers at the front desk. Wash cloths for us ugly Americans.
Location: In walking distance from downtown. Lots of taxis and ways to get around. Very good artisans selling stuff.
Part of my problem was not speaking the language. But part was cultural. Apparently, people say they can't do something, like give change for a 500 peso note, when obviously they can if you insist. This seemed to be endemic in the town, not just the hotel. This is a basic hotel--no pool or gym, etc. but what they do they do pretty well. They will give you directions around town and there is a local guy setting up tours. It isn't set up for business conferences. My room maid was quite sensitive to my schedule.
