The deer were a nice sight, the cabin we rented was way overpriced for what we got, it was very dirty! carpet was dirty floors were dirty & sticky there weren't any frying pans except for the one that was in the oven & it was greasy we couldn't see a thing out the windows they were filthy and blinds had not been cleaned in who knows how long there was a old hot dog under 6 sofa there's not enough space for 3 people & this cabin was supposed to sleep 4/5 people there were Christmas decorations in the closet & dirty sheets ,& blanket on floor of the other one & dirty outside as well , the grill was filthy & dirty spatula inside the grill, will never rent from canyon cabins again our stay was not what we expected for the price paid We asked to be moved they said they were full 👎

We are so sorry that you reacted this way. Yes, this is a rustic cabins, but your claims of dirt are not based in fact. We would have moved you had we not been completely full. Nowadays everyone is on edge and this type of feedback is a sad reminded on the times.

Terrible Mattress and Moldy Shower Curtain
We were in the Chipmunk cabin. The mattress was one of those cheap, yellow, thick foam pads. It was miserably hot and my husband sunk in so much with his upper body that his feet were raised above his head. We barely slept and had a 10 hour drive the next day.
The kitchen was nicely remodeled, but the rest of the cabin needed help. The walls needed replaced or at least restained, the carpet needed cleaned from stains and it just needed attention over all.
The shower curtain was moldy, but overall it seemed relatively clean except for the bathroom vinyl. It was filthy in spots.
We did enjoy the two deer who came to say goodbye to us the next morning!

We are so sorry that you did not completely enjoy your stay. Chipmunk has had dozens of great reviews since it was renovated and the mattress is actually brand new with a very expensive foam topper that guests usually love. However, some folks need more support than others and we do have other lodges with a different mattress philosophy, so we can certainly accommodate folks with special needs. You are correct, the carpet had some staining from all the rains and we have already completely steam cleaned it. We would happily have done this during your stay had you mentioned it, but it remains regrettable that this got past us. This is our high season and we are very busy, but that is no excuse for not addressing stains. As for the walls we have no idea what you are referring to. It is a cabin in the mountains with lots of wood and no drywall, so maybe that is the issue? Some folks are just not cabin people and we get that, but our web site has complete photos inside and out. We understand from our manager that the steps were a real challenge for you and this probably made the cabin seem inappropriate for you. Had we not been booked solid we would have gladly relocated you to something with a flat and level ground entrance. Next time be sure to discuss your needs with our desk staff as they will make certain that you are matched to a cabin that meets your expectations.
