Hotel just OK. Clean but expected it to smell better and feel cleaner. Stairs very dirty. Remote for TV didn’t go with cable company so hard to search for channels. Nothing special for the price

Dangerous Living

Pros: The bed was comfortable enough.
Cons: Get the elevator inspected (last inspected in 2016), put some pride in the food, update security issues (bathroom/room doors).
This hotel was not worth the price we paid. The staff had no record of our payment even though it had been paid a week before (they didn't even know how to contact Travelocity to confirm payment). The breakfast was bland and greasy. The carpet in our room was torn up at the edges. The show curtain did not stop water from coming out the other end and flooding the floor (creating a slipping hazard). The bathroom door did not latch. The room door had to be pulled very hard and then tested to ensure it locked each time we left. The most dangerous thing, however, was the elevator; which was last in inspected in 2016 and swayed and rattled excessively when used. We told the front desk about the issue and when we came back later that day, the elevator inspection card's inspection/expiration date had been stuffed down into the frame to conceal them. We took a picture of the concealed card and will be filing a complaint with the Illinois Fire Marshal.

thanks for staying with us. and we are aware of that elevator license expire. we have all paper work for new inspection this year but we never got our renewed license in mail even after we made few calls to the state. sorry for your inconvenience.

Not Great

Noisy area, trucks, machinery, trains, etc. Clientele included many laborers with trucks, etc. parked all around. Tracked mud into motel, even breakfast room. Noone cleaned it up. Staff seemed minimal, including breakfast where nobody was ever around. Needed things but noone to help us (like napkins). Room had large crack partially filled in ceiling. Chair at desk too tall, interfered with bed, couldn't get around it. Frig door opened wrong way making it difficult to use (against side wall). Beds were very uncomfortable for us, but enjoyed the varied pillows, some soft, hard, etc. No nearby eating, very sparse area for amenities. Bathtub very slick and slipped while showering. No way to make it safer. A/C turned to MAX cooling and room was still too warm (but tolerable). Looong walk to ice/vending machines with them at end of long hall (our room on opposite end(). Checkout easy, had receipt at our door in early AM. TV seemed old and not real clear. Remote did not work well, might have bad battery.

Not what I booked

When we arrived at the hotel, we were given a handicap room. I had booked a standard king room. The pillows were stained yellow and we didn't even use them. We were awaken by the fire alarms going off only to be told to go back in our rooms. Where we continued to hear them go off for 10 min. And to top it off, I was charged twice even though I only stayed one night. Definitely would not stay there again.
