For an old hotel, it looks beautiful and updated. Had a good night’s rest and a lovely dinner in the dining room and then a free breakfast.

This is a beautiful old hotel. The staff was amazing and the room was spotless and very comfortable. The bed was very comfy as I slept a solid 12 hours after a delicious dinner in the dining room. Had a wonderful free breakfast before we checked out. Excellent and can’t wait for my next trip.

We didn't get to spend a lot of time here, but we were blown away in our short stay! Wow! Such a unique history, beautiful upkeeping, amazing staff, and superb dining! Anyone staying in the area needs to be staying at Hotel El Capitan!!

A great place to stay.
When we pass through Van Horn,Texas we stay at the El Capitan if possible. The hotel is architecturally significant, and exudes a charming and hospitable atmosphere. We partucularly enjoy the attached restaurant and bar.

We were unable to get much sleep as the hotel was very noisy, especially the opening and closing of doors well after midnight. You could easily hear conversations from the hall and rooms on either side of us. Plus the couple nest door to us was having a very loud and nasty fight at 6;00 in the morning.
