Great value for the price and excellent location. Breakfast selections were fantastic! However, more staff is needed to keep up with how many guests were eating. Simple things like refiling the waffle mix, or extra disposable coffee cups, or more ketchup packets took far too long to get. Staff was friendly and I will stay here again.

Overall this is a nice place to stay in Winter Park. My only criticism would be in the condition of the beds - they were not comfortable and could use new mattresses. We had a hard time sleeping

The hotel is older and some updates have been done. The carpet in our room was stained and soiled. The window in our room would not close completely. The AC in our room was very loud. The worst part was that the breakfast area is in the lobby which has doors at either end and people stand directly outside of these doors smoking. The stench was foul and it went up the stair wells which are next to the dors and inflitrated our room and the corridor. It was horrible. Breakfast tables were dirty, we did not see staff wiping after guests left the table, and with the breakfast being in the lobby, it was an absolute zoo as guests tried to check out and move around guests eating breakfast - along with the intense foul stench of the cigarette smoke billowing in from both ends, we left as quickly as we could and will not come back. It is appalling for one to smoke, it is foul to do it right outside of doors and the hotel should take steps to make sure that anyone who engages in this disgusting habit stay well away and keep their cancer causing stench to themselves and not inflict it on others. There is a reason the other hotels cost more but are completely booked and this hotel is cheaper and still has rooms available - it's worth the extra money to stay somewhere else.

Winter Park for the weekend

Located right in the center of Winter Park, across the street from great barbecue. The room was small, but clean and modern. There is a fridge and microwave oven in each room. The staff is friendly and helpful. The free breakfast buffet was better than average.

Great hotel for Winter Park skiers

Pros: Location, free breakfast, price
Cons: The room heater needed to be fixed; it actually made the room too hot at times
Location: Great location right at Ski Shuttle stop, so it was just a few minutes ride to the ski slopes; very close to restaurants and other town businesses
The Best Western Alpenglo was a great choice for us. It is right on the Ski shuttle route, so a free bus running several times per hour will take you to and from the actual ski area (which is about 2 miles from the town of Winter Park). This was as convienient as any hotels that we saw in the area. Their location in the town of Winter Park was a also just a few blocks walk from at least 20 restaurants, with many different food choices. The room was comfortable and reasonably priced, and there was a nice free breakfaast every day. And we arrived at 10:15 am off of the California Zephyr Amtrak train, and the hotel staff was great, and allowed us to check in early. All in all, a very nice stay.

Winter Park getaway

Pros: Very good room rate for the location.
Cons: More attention to breakfast items.
Location: Close to restaurants, shopping, entertainment.
This hotel has limited parking close in. There is additional parking available behind the building next door. The hot tub is in a separate building so you freeze getting back to the hotel on chilly days/nights. Breakfast was edible but scant (ran out of milk, yogurt, bread---not replenished). Coffee was instant with an aftertaste. Beds were comfortable.
