Such a bummer because the property is cute, clean and the staff very nice BUT the area more than a little sketchy. We live downtown in a big East Coast city and we also lived in Venice a long time ago so normal city life noise is not what I mean. I mean a 3 hour drum circle, people screaming and fighting- police cars stationed right outside.

Thank you for your review. We're glad to see that you liked our hotel but it is disappointing that you gave us such a low rating because of the area. Unfortunately many of the issues you mentioned are out of our control but we still do our best to make sure our guests enjoy their stay.

A lot of homeless people, didn't bother us though. Beach area was fairly clean.

We enjoyed the rooftop overlook seating area. Also the location was perfect, just a short walk to the beach. The room was absolutely gorgeous and clean - accommodated all of our needs. Equipped with a two burner stove, microwave, dishwasher and a mid-size refrigerator with a freezer below. They had equipment like chairs, wave boards, mats- for sun bathing and umbrellas for use for FREE. But get them early!!! Lol Just loved the place and the staff. Ask and you shall recieve.

Great view except for the homeless tents, loud, very loud, louder... I understand the boardwalk is loud but the alleyway right outside the hotel door had a vendor playing LOUD music all day long... no resting... no stopping... couldn't hear myself think. Called front desk and she said they were free to do as they pleased. So, as a guest I didn't feel like my concerns were even taken into consideration. Giant cockroach turned up under my pillow. Room was clean otherwise but hallway carpets are gross, dirty and smelly. Coffee maker but NO coffee cups... paper or otherwise. No day cleaning service... no made beds... couldn't pay me to stay there again.

I thought this place would be family friendly, but the area was bad. There was a lot of homeless, no on site parking. I had to either park on the street or an overnight parking site which was a 10 min walk away. It wouldn’t have been bad, but I was not going to walk at night, with all the homeless out with my 2 kids under 2 years old.

No water, no ice, no parking. Had to park my Mercedes on a busy street. Homeless people everywhere, felt very unsafe. Staff was no help, could care less actually. Only redeeming part was roof patio. Will not return.

Everyone was Super Friendly! Loved the room and the beach view. Would go back and would highly recommend this location. The homeless people are there but don't come out till nighttime.
