Needs cleaning and improved management, quality control by absentee owner.
Absentee owner does not inspect regularly, many things needed repair or maintenance- oven did not work, many lights needed new bulbs or troubleshooting, furniture needed Re arranging for bedroom doors to close. There is zero printed or written info at the property. Shower tub is very dangerous ingress egress, weird design of steps. Parking is totally weird and you have to ask the all day drinking-beer neighbors to move their cars to get in and out. I’m a 30 year resident of a more traditional northern NM village than Abiquiu, not an out of state tourist. None of these issues are cultural, rather just a function of passive lazy management. If they pay their cleaners more money , maybe they can spend more time making the unit proper for guests.

Great place to stay
It was a really nice house with everything we needed and then some. And easy drives to lots of places. As other people have said, it's a little difficult to find and parking is tight but we would definitely return.

Incredible place
If you're looking for a remote getaway, this is the perfect place for you. The inside of this home is more beautiful than the pictures convey, and Abiquiu is gorgeous as well. Check in and check out were easy, but as other folks mentioned I would definitely recommend getting there during the daylight hours because it is hard to find the first time. Parking is tight but we had no trouble once we got used to it. The neighbors were very friendly, we ended up chatting for a while and one of them gave us fresh fruit from his orchard. I definitely recommend saying hi and introducing yourself if you stay here. Overall, we had a wonderful time and I could not recommend this spot more. Hopefully we will be back sometime to visit again!

Well you get what you pay for! Arrived at night so no matter how good the instructions are we weren’t going to find the place - had to be guided in via the cleaning crew. We were gone early and back late every day we were there. Getting in and out of the driveway to and from the assigned parking was atrocious. Seemed like the neighbors intentionally parked in such a way as to make entering and leaving the driveway a real hassle (we have a compact car). Our assigned parking had a overgrown shrub that scraped our car and got in the way of passengers getting in and out. House interior had live daddy long leg spiders and beetles. Awkward tub and shower combo that was cumbersome getting in and out of (an accident waiting to happen). Toilet is awkward for a man to use in stand up mode. Driveway neighbor has some sort of hoarding thing going on so his yard and driveway are full of his “Assets” causing his car to partially block the driveway making for entry and exit issues.

Impossible to locate, impossible parking, neighbors way too close and they all lived in a hoarded yard filled with cats and rubbish. No views, did not feel safe.

An absolute recommend
My brother and I really enjoyed this beautiful adobe home. It's located atop a hill in the heart of Abiquiu, which makes for beautiful sunsets and stargazing - especially from the courtyard. We found the next door neighbors to be incredibly welcoming and helpful. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen large and well-equipped, and the bathroom felt more like a spa. The casita is a very short walk up the road from Saint Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church and Georgia O'Keefe's home and studio and a short drive to Ghost Ranch, Abiquiu Lake, and the Monastery of Christ in the Desert, among other places of interest. As a plus, the casita is less than an hour's drive from Bandelier National Monument and Valles Caldera National Preserve. We will definitely be back.

Best Way to Visit Abiquiu
Gorgeous in pictures, even better in person. I love that it has (clearly) been around for 100+ years but is still being loved and maintained. All the beauty of an NM adobe with the renovations to make it comfortable. For future guests: wifi can be spotty, bedrooms lie between patio and bathroom/kitchen so privacy is better for 2 than 4, and the one air conditioning unit struggles to cool the whole house, so close interior doors at night. Nevertheless, for the price, location, and charm, this property is fantastic! A rare treat in the area that I can't wait to visit again.

This place is a gem.
I really love finding places like this. It's a place with character and soul. It was everything needed and more. Parking may seem tricky the first attempt, but is easier each time. The immediate neighbors seemed polite, quiet and kept to themselves. I would definitely return.
