It has the smallest elevator I have ever been in! LOL but it's my first time to Europe so I might find smaller! Over I loved this hotel. It fit our needs very well. We could be at several major attractions in under 10-15 minutes of walking. The rooms were very clean and well maintained. When I return to Athens I will be staying at the Attalos Hotel.

For a European hotel it was adequate. The bathrooms were less than adequate. The shower curtains, and shower areas leaked water all over the bathroom. It would be very easy for one to slip and fall in the bathroom.

Nice hotel, l very close to the Parthenon

Pros: Rooms are spacious enough for two people and we had a little balcony from which you can see the Parthenon, beautifully lighted at night.
Location: Two blocks from Monastiraki Square, wonderful ancient sites; Greek and Roman Agoras, Hadrian's library, Stoa of Attalos Museum and the Parthenon.
We had a lovely stay at the Attalos, a clean and well situated hotel in Athens. Food was plentiful in their breakfast room and it is fun to have a drink on the rooftop after dark where the view of the Parthenon is spectacular. The lounge area had the best wi-fi connection and computers available for guests. Hotel staff was friendly and very helpful making arrangements for transportation. Lots of restaurants in a cozy Greek neighborhood nearby as well as tourist shopping and restaurants around the square. Metro is about two blocks away and you can get all over the city on the metro.

Good central location. Unfortunately the graffiti outside gives it a less than appealing feeling. Once the sun goes down the whole area has a great feeling about it.

convenient perfect location for walking to sights

Very happy with our stay here. Great convenient location, wonderful rooms and breakfast. Easy walk to sights. Friendly staff and excellent price!

Great hotel in great location

Attalos lived up to the reviews on this and other sites. Friendly helpful staff, great location for the Parthenon, the metro and Bairaktaris restaurant. The room and common areas were very clean and the breakfast was good. The rooftop bar has a great view of the city. Why anyone would pay more for a four-star hotel is beyond me. First impression walking from the metro to the hotel was that the area is not super fancy, but the locals are friendly and we never felt unsafe or threatened. Thoroughly recommend the Hotel Attalos and we will definitely stay there on our next trip to Athens.

Clean budget hotel in Industrial Market area

This is a clean budget hotel on an industrial street that has an elevator (lift). Great view of the Acropolis from roof top lounge and good proximity to Metro, Plaka and Acropolis. This is not a clean area but we felt "safe". The room was clean but bed was thin. We met relatives from Greece that all asked "why are you staying there?" Would return if hotel in nicer area were unavailable or to expensive. Check the Athens hotel if they have an elevator as many budget ones do not and try to stay in clean areas of which there are many. The Metro is very good used it for transportation from airport and Pireus and the natives were pleasant.
