It had a charm about it. The desk clerk was very nice and helpful with referrals for dining. The room was much better that I expected. I would stay again.

Enjoyed the modern styling. Parking lot is behind the building. Limited street parking in the front (which isn't bad, just worth noting).

Enjoyed our one night stay very much . Not your average chain hotel. Had class! No paper or plastic glasses or plates. Large room , wide halls. Walking distance to a good Mexican restaurant. Highly recommend this hotel.

Nice hotel away from the crowd

The hotel was clean and designed very well. I would recommend this place to anyone. We were going to Carlsbad Caverns and because of spring break couldn’t find a desently price hotel in Carlsbad. But Hotel Artesia turned out to be a much better choice. Comfortable and we didn’t have to deal with the crowds.

Nice hotel in a small town

Everything was perfect except it smelled of strong gas smell as soon as you step out of your car (hotel is across the stress from an oil refinery) and the receptionist during our check in was rude and unfriendly.

Chic and Modern in a small New Mexico town

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Quiet, free parking, center of town
Cons: No free Internet, no pool
This is THE place to stay in Artesia. This hotel is modern and new. I arrived late on a Friday night. The lounge doubles as a nightclub and there was a line going out the front door to get in. Initially I was confused because I wasn't sure where to check-in. It seemed like I was cutting in line to get to the front desk, which is on one side of the lounge. The music was loud and I felt like I was in an LA nightclub rather than a small town. It was so unexpected I got a chuckle out of it. The check in was fast and parking is a breeze even with the busy lounge. I had a room on the first floor and it was huge. Two double beds, modern furnishings in an Art Deco motiff, and the bath was stylish. It's very nice. The next morning the lounge was silent except for CNN on the TV and a nice continental breakfast was laid out. Furnishings are impeccable. I ended up staying 3 nights instead of 2, and got to wander the town abit and see the many bronze statues. Staff is friendly yet not intrusive, just right. Downsides are the occasional petroleum odor from the factory nearby, no pool and it's abit more expensive. I have been in hotels from Boston to Amsterdam to Tokyo, this hotel is well worth the money.
