Feb 19, 2018

Due to driving before take off from Philadelphia our flight was late getting to Dallas. The attendants answer our questions about our connecting flight and arrange for us to get off the plane first with the result that we and our bags were on the next flight! We were very happy campers!

How to get through airport security fast when traveling to McAllen

Your trip to McAllen kicks off as soon as you've satisfied all the security checks. We've summarized a few helpful tips and hints to ensure you pass through quickly:

  • Make sure you know the whereabouts of your boarding pass and passport. You don't want to hold up the line when you're asked to hand them over.
  • You'll have to pause the tunes for a short while. Earphones need to be taken off and put in a tub for X-raying. The same applies to items such as heavy jackets and belts.
  • Laptops need to be removed from their protective cases and placed in a tray for inspection.
  • Hand cream, toothpaste and other toiletry items in gel, liquid or cream form need to be stored in containers no larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters). They also need to fit in a 1-quart (1-liter) clear resealable bag.
  • Hiking boots and other heavy shoes are most often X-rayed at the security checkpoint. We suggest wearing lightweight sneakers instead.
  • The list of prohibited items is forever changing. Check with your airline's official website to find out what is not allowed on board their flights.

Flights To McAllen

Like most South Texas settlements in the early 1900s, McAllen started out as a desolate farming community huddled against the Mexican border. But with time came change, and McAllen slowly began to add more industries and grow its economy through oil, wineries, and wood factories. With the construction of McAllen-Hidalgo Reynosa International Bridge came an influx of winter “snowbirds” looking to escape the blizzards up north, boosting the local population during the winter. These days, McAllen is a great starting point for your Southern Texas and Northern Mexico adventures. Book your ticket because flights to McAllen (MFE) are waiting for you.
