Airfares offered on Friday tend to be the cheapest, according to flight demand on Travelocity.ca in 2021. Purchasing your airfares on a Thursday or Saturday can also provide better value, however our advice if you’re looking to save money is to avoid booking on a Wednesday or Sunday. Our data shows that those two days have the highest ticket values on average, so keep this in mind if you’re browsing flight deals.
Frequent travellers may already know this, earlier in the week is often the cheapest time to fly. Flights departing on a Monday are the cheapest of the week. Since flights towards the middle of the week tend to be more popular, this causes the prices to rise. This is why, on average, airfares booked on Travelocity.ca in 2021 were most expensive for Wednesday departures.
Here’s the deal: It is typically possible to start comparing international airfares on Travelocity.ca up to 12 months in advance. However, it does depend on the carrier as not all airlines release their prices that far out. According to our 2021 flight demand trends, last minute planners can still bag a bargain with some of the cheapest fares appearing 2-4 weeks prior to their travel dates.

Everyone has heard of the iconic horseshoe-shaped Niagara Falls, but actually seeing them is a whole different story. Because it straddles the border of Canada and the United States, and is surrounded by more than four different airports, flying into Niagara can be confusing. Luckily, we're here to help demystify flights to Niagara! Really, it all depends on where you're coming from and which airport has the Niagara flights that make the most sense for you. The closest options are the Niagara Falls International Airport (IAG), and the Buffalo-Niagara International airport (BUF), about a half-hour from the falls. Though these are American airports and you'd have to cross the border to get to Niagara in Canada, they're closer than the options for Canada, which include Hamilton International Airport (YHM) and Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ). Despite being the closest airport on the Canadian side, the Niagara District Airport (YCM) currently has no scheduled passenger services.
Travel from the two U.S. airports might seem tricky at first glance, since you have to cross the border. However, there are many Canadian ground transportation services that can bring you north, as well as rental cars, and the convenient shuttle from the Buffalo Airport. You can also take a taxi to downtown Buffalo and get a bus to Niagara, Canada. From IAG, taxis and rental cars are your best bet. YYZ is about an hour and a half from Niagara, while YHM is about fifty minutes away. Cabs, shuttles, and rental cars are the best options at the two Canadian airports. Hotels in Niagara will also often have shuttles from the area's various airports, and this may well be the easiest option.
Niagara is a vibrant, colorful city that is worth a visit for a lot more than just its famous falls.
