Breathtaking Views and Exceptional Service
We had wonderful time! Our room was absolutely amazing and the service we received was top-notch. The location of the hotel could not have been more perfect, and the views across the city were absolutely breathtaking. Reliable hotel with a generally good standard
Royal Terrace Hotel is a reliable stay in an IHG hotel. Positives were the general good level of the hotel lounges, bar and breakfast area. Less good were a quite dark room - uplighting approach - and a weak wifi signal into that room. Good location for the Picardy Place tram and Elm Row buses up and down to Princes St and Leith.

Booked over a month in advance as a Christmas getaway for my partner and I as well as it being as part of our anniversary. We booked a standard room as the photos looked beautiful of the rooms. However when we arrived we got given our room key and was told to head down the stairs to get to our room. We walked down the right dark stairs into the basement and walked through the small corridor until we arrived at our room door. When we opened it we came to find a TINY room with almost no room at either side of the bed. Now, we have never ever complained in our life but this 2 night stay cost us almost £400! And I’ve stayed in premier inns which are far better. So we went back up and explained to reception about the room. She was extremely nice however there was no standard rooms available for us to move into so we had to downgrade with not money back to a cosy room. As much as the cost room was FAR better than the original room it still didn’t compare to the ones shown in the images. We cut our losses here and stayed in the cosy room which was a fairy sweet comfortable room. My main reason for the review is that I DO NOT believe that the standard room that we received originally should have ever been given to us at that price. I would agree that it is okay to stay in at a greatly discounted price but it absolutely was not anything like the photos or worth the money.
