Comfortable, Clean, Buses make it a great location
Pros:The restaurant had tasty food. The cleanliness was good. The people who worked at the hotel and ran it were very nice, helpful, and accommodating.
Cons:This is an aging property. They will need to continue to upgrade and repair to keep things up. But it's fine. Children's games were missing pieces
Location:Hotel has best food around. Also a Chinese and Italian 10 minute walk. Then a bus can take you to many public beaches or downtown.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Orange Hill. It was a little off the beaten path near the airport and away from the resorts. The beach right accross the street is a little shy on sand but quite beautiful. The pool was not heated, so we swam in the ocean. The rooms and common areas were clean, cozy, and comfortable. We had a great time with this Inn as our launching spot. We spent a lot of time going to different beaches by bus. The bus goes right past the Inn and seems to run every 10 minutes all day until 7pm, maybe later. There are a few sights within a short walk. We thought the cave was neat, pirates used to live there. There are 2 restaurants about a 10 minute walk from the hotel. A 3 star hotel that gets my approval rating of 5 stars.

Orange Hill Beach Inn is a quick ride from the airport. (I confirmed first with the driver and paid only $10.) Upon arriving, I was pleased to see a quaint resort with well-kept, small grounds and a private feel. After wasting an hour in immigration, I was happy to quickly get checked in by a very friendly and helpful employee. The hotel is showing signs of age but was clean and comfortable. My room floor was a little sticky from the humidity but closing the windows a little fixed that. The bed was comfortable. The TV only had about 6 channels so I didn't place a deposit for a remote and was fine with that choice (I didn't come to watch TV.) I didn't try the pool but I had a lovely view on my balcony of it and the beach beyond. The beach, only a 2 minute walk across the street is gorgeous, calm and WARM and was deserted on the weekdays. My first night, I threw caution to the wind and decided to walk to the 24-hour grocery store. The girl at the front desk said it wasn't within walking distance.. it ended up taking about 1 hour and 15 minutes to get there. This being the Bahamas, I didn't regret it! I was also offered some rides, but declined since it was dark. It was a pleasant walk but I was glad to relax at the hotel after it was over. I used the room minifridge and microwave to prepare dinner and store my food. I took a local bus into Nassau the next day and had a walk around. Lots of construction, some dirt, not much to do so I took some pictures and headed back to the beach. I had been a little wary after reading other reviews, but I was really happy with Orange Hill, and I would return. I made use of the free computer with internet, and never even had to wait for it. The hotel guests seemed ready to relax, no loud partying or annoying people. After seeing Cable Beach, I'd take this place over an all-inclusive any day. The hotel called me a cab for a ride back to the airport, this time it was $15 (confirmed prior to riding) but the guy had one arm, I didn't protest. If you aren't high maintenance, I think this place delivers the right location, price and comfort level

Great layover spot...

Very quaint resting place. Very friendly staff and helpful with any needed information. Definitely not luxury, but definitely comfortable. We enjoyed splashing on the beach and snorkeling. Felt very safe.

Stay here! Great people, great value, great location!
We just returned from a week in Nassau. Our hostess and her son were wonderful. They were very helpful and accomodating in every way. Although the hotel is not a luxury stay, it is clean, bugless and kept up...great value compared to the exhorbitant prices for the hotels on Cable Beach and Paradise Island. The onsite restaurant provides delicious island meals at a reasonable price. In addition, there is a wonderful, crowd-free and clean beach right next to the hotel. Located away from the crowds at the west end of the island, hotel is a great find!!!

True Island Experience
Lush tropical garden provides quiet retreat near uncrowded, beautiful beach. Rooms were modest, but clean and comfortable. Probably the best hotel value on the island. Fruits and vegetables grown on premises. Inexpensive transportation to Town is provided by frequent bus service.
There's a restaurant on site. You can enjoy a drink at the bar/lounge. WiFi is free in public spaces. An outdoor pool, a terrace, and tour/ticket assistance are also featured at Orange Hill Beach Inn. Free self parking is available. This 3-star Nassau hotel is smoke free.
