Good Stay for an Overnight
The room was clean and nice looking but smelled of cigarette smoke when we walked in. I'm not sure if it was from a previous guest or someone nearby. I was hoping it would fade away but we left and came back and the smell was still strong. We got a family room that had a queen bed and a bunkbed. What I thought was going to be an actual bunkbed was a wall pullout bunkbed. Though the bottom bed was fine, my friend didn't feel comfortable staying on the top bunk because as she put it "it's being held up by seatbelts" so we shared the queen bed. Its probably more suitable for a kid or small teenager but not an adult. Staff was friendly and efficient though I never received my final bill after checkout. Parking was convenient and affordable. It was also walking distance to the Prudential Center and seemed like a safe area. We only stayed one night for a concert so it was fine but I would try a different room for another stay.

Anytime I’m in Newark, Tryp will always be my first option, the hotel shuttle is convenient and the location is brilliant! The bar staff were also very helpful and welcoming! Will see you again soon Tryp!
