Unique construction and great location. Unfortunately, the room was extremy noisy at night due to the heating pipes and system. It made repetitive creaks, pings, metal clanking and rattling. The shower head produced painfully slow trickle that was disappointing after a day of skiing in the cold and wanting a nice soothing shower. This property has been a bit neglected and it needs investment.

Thanks for your stay and comments. we are very sorry for the noisy pipes, as the heat comes on and off during the night, Wish you had mentioned the slow trickle in the shower, we have water saving eco friendly shower heads in the bathrooms, if not for Covid, we would have had our hot tub open for your convince. We will try our level best to make your next visit a bountiful visit, Hope to see you back soon at the lodge during your next visit to town of Taos.

We asked for early check-in and were denied. It was about 10:30 am so we thought maybe they thought we wanted to check-in then. So we then said we just wanted to check-in at 1 or 2pm. They still said no. Not great customer service. Room was very large and relatively clean. Bed was comfortable. The facility was very old and just adequately cared for. The carpets, flooring, and shower were very old and dated. The carpet was probably from the 70’s. That is just too old even when cared for. For the price there are much nicer hotels in Taos.

Thanks for your stay and comments, we wish we could have given you the room as per your request, because of COVID 19, we are limited to our room availability and we have to wait for the vacant rooms to go through the sanitize process. Property is going through renovation process of changing carpets and new showers, we would love to have you back and see the progress made at the lodge at your next visit.

We try to always stay in local motels when traveling, so have a good understanding of what to expect. Kachina Lodge looks the part from the outside, but we had a few issues in the room. First, the good things -- good location, lots of space in the room, pet-friendly, heat worked great, good hot water in the bath and comfortable beds and pillows. On the other side, the wifi was really bad -- intermittent at best. Usually not too much trouble, but our cell service didn't work in this area either. We were on the first floor, and we could hear every step the people on the 2nd floor made. Loudly. The stopper in the sink didn't work, it kept closing. There was no soap or shampoo offered in the room either. So all in all, not a bad stay, just a lot of little things that could be improved.

Thanks for your positive criticism, we wish and hope, folks would do the same, It is nice to know all is not BAD at the lodge, we certainly appreciate the good things you enjoyed at the property. We had challenges at the lodge for internet as the buildings are not connected. we invested into five modems to counter the issue, one for each building an two access points to relay the signal, we are having trouble with apple products at the lodge for connectivity, ( getting advice from tech guys on this issue). All rooms are serviced daily by our housekeeping staff, unless Guest has a DO NOT DISTRUB SIGN on the door. we are very sorry for not reaching and full filling the need for soap and shampoo, we do have extra supplies available at front desk. we are updating the rooms and can assure you the floor and tub issue will be resolved. We do appreciate your patronage to the lodge and staff, please revisit us and see the amazing progress being made at the lodge.

Great location. Good breakfast. Rooms need to be renovated. Carpet was disgustingly dirty.

Reasonably priced, close to activities, rooms more than adequate. I’ve stayed here several times when overnighting in Taos.
