Beautiful resort stay! Welcomed with a drink, they helped us make dinner reservations for each night. A nice birthday cake was delivered to our room as my sister and I went on this trip for our birthdays. Very clean, beautiful and comfortable resort. Buffet and restaurants were delicious. Beach was beautiful.

Property was great! But make sure you book your own transportation to and from the airport and stay away fro Mexico Travel Solutions, this was a booking from Speedy Shuttle! So do not select that as an option! I booked my transportation in advance so I could relax on vacation, MTS got my flight information wrong and booked me for a 7:40am pick up for a 2:30pm flight! 6 hours at the airport in advance is unacceptable! When I reached out to their team 4 days in advance, I was given the run around with miscommunication and the issues was not fixed! I was refunded $57 just to turn around and have to book a last minute taxi for $97! I lost hours of my vacation/beach time as well as $40! I am unhappy with this result as any of you would be yet I was treated like this was all my fault! I want to make sure people know to stay away from MTS as an incompetent company that could leave you stranded without transportation and you could loose precious vacation/relaxation time!

The beach and property are gorgeous. It’s the best beach we’ve been to in Mexico. The restaurants are consistently good. This is our 3rd trip to the Barcelo and we stayed at the adults only this time. The accommodations were less than great. Our room on arrival was facing the the water but was above the lobby which turns into a nightclub at 8. Really loud!!! At 9:30 the band came in and faced the hotel directly in front of us. We couldn’t use the balcony or read or hear the TV. They moved us the next day but the room they promised was given away and we ended up on a lower floor. It was quiet but the room had an unbelievable smell of urine. I asked that the floors be deep cleaned but that didn’t help and the hotel was booked. It was very strong to the point of distraction. We left the doors open as much as possible. The Rivera isn’t as nice as the Palace, where we’ve stayed before. The beach here was amazing though and the restaurants were outstanding. Check your room if you come here and be prepared for a loud atmosphere.

Second stay at Barcelo and it was just as wondeful as the first! Property and rooms are so clean! Buffet has a variety! Dinner restuartants are delicious! Don't forget your tumbler for the pool bars!
