We reserved a 2 queen room in June for our August stay. When we arrived, we paid and then the clerk gave us our key card and sent us on our way. The room he gave us was a king with a sleeper sofa. When I showed him the reservation, he blamed it on Travelocity and said they had no other rooms with 2 queen beds. I asked if he could refund the room and we would go somewhere else. He said he didn’t have the authority to do that and the general manager could help us tomorrow. It was disappointing to spend that much money to sleep on a thin mattress sleeper sofa when we could have all slept comfortably in the type of room I reserved 2 months in advance. We visit Ames often and we won’t return to this hotel.
