Beautifully refurbished hotel.
Pros:This hotel and restaurant was beautifully appointed, not to mention many comfortable amenities. The beds slept amazing.
My husband and I stayed at this hotel for many medical appointments in the past. The hotel went thru a transformation and was closed for quite sometime during that period. My husband and I were ecstatic to know they had reopened so we included the Redmont as a part of our trip. Let me say our room was beautifully appointed and the restaurant had wonderful food along with a great staff. It was very convenient not having to leave the hotel for dinner that evening. I booked our room thru a booking agency and and fortunately I took my paperwork from the booking agency with room rate. When checking out, we were charged $20 more a night than what was quoted also, I presented my debit card to keep on file to use for payment. Not only did they charge my card once, they took out 3 holds on my account. Once when we arrived, another that night and also upon checking out. These holds can take up to 8 days to come off your account holding out your money for that length of time. After having my card declined at the medical clinic, this was brought to light. This stay ultimately became a nightmare for my husband and myself. If you stay at this hotel, I advise you take cash or use a credit card where there is unlimited funds. Expect if you have an issue, you might get an email from the general manager but she does not return phone calls and neither does the manager Sydney.

street parking, broken elevator, no breakfast
Cons:Nothing close, Poor breakfast
First there is either street parking with meters or a parking lot across street for a fee with no attendant.
Second, one of their elevators was broken.
Third, they did not offer any breakfast. And we were directed by staff that the hotel down the street has a restaurant. Otherwise, you will have to drive as we did. No vending machines either.
Fourth, hotel is in terrible need of a renovation. Very outdated.
Fifth, limited cable channels with bad reception.
Sixth, several homeless or loiters gathered on the street after dusk.
I will say that the bed/pillows were nice. And with the lack of guests while we were there, very quiet.

We wanted to reach out to you today to make you aware of the restoration project we have just finished at The Redmont. While we were still unable to acquire our own parking lot we do now have valet parking! The hotel now offers a full service dining experience (breakfast through dinner), in-room dining, and a café with breakfast/lunch. We hope that if you ever stay in the area again that you will give The Redmont a second chance!

We have just completed our large restoration project which began in 2014 and we look forward to hosting all of our previous guests! Small, boutique hotel in heart of downtown Birmingham. Parking is a little sketchy and there was a fair amount of noise on the street outside my window until about 11 p.m.
Room was comfortable and location was good for my needs.
