How to get through airport security fast when traveling to Atlantic City

Make your trip to Atlantic City a little easier by following these useful security tips:

  • Have your passport and boarding pass easily accessible. They'll be the first things you'll be asked to produce by airport security staff.
  • USB sticks, wallets and mobile phones must be placed in a tray for X-raying. If you pass through the body scanner with any of these items, you'll be instructed to turn back and remove them.
  • Electronic devices such as phones, laptops and cameras will need to be put through the X-ray machine separately. Be sure they're easily accessible.
  • Face cream, toothpaste and other toiletry items in liquid, gel or cream form need to be stored in containers no larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters). They also need to fit in a 1-quart (1-liter) clear resealable bag.
  • Hiking boots and other heavy shoes are usually X-rayed at the security checkpoint. Consider wearing lightweight sneakers instead.

Flights to Atlantic City, New Jersey (ACY)

Those who fly to Atlantic City will arrive at the Atlantic City International Airport (ACY) located in Egg Harbor just nine miles from the downtown area. You can generally find cheap Atlantic City flights via Spirit Airlines and AirTran Airways. United Airlines recently announced they will offer nonstop flights to Atlantic City beginning in April 2014.

If you’re trying to satisfy those hunger pangs or just want to kill some time, there are a number of eateries to choose from in the airport, as well as a brew pub and bar.
