U2 is the IATA code of EasyJet. This two-character code, occasionally also called the airline designator, is assigned by the International Air Transport Association. It standardizes and simplifies timetables, tickets, tariffs, telecommunications and more.

You’ll find it in your travel itinerary, which you’ll receive when you’ve finalized your booking. If you’re not too sure what to look out for, browse the document for a code consisting of letters and numbers. The first one to two letters and single digit are the IATA airline code, which represents the name of your airline. This part is followed by one to four digits — your flight number.
