Room had an in-wall open-flame gas heater. It kept the room warm, but not safe. Other safety issues included exposed cables, disabled smoke alarm. Advertises as 'boutique' but is very old and needs better maintenance.

My family was getting on the Amtrak train the following morning at 4:15am. The location of the L Motel was ideal! So close, yet we got a quiet nights sleep. The motel was basic, nothing fancy, but clean, and staff was friendly and attentive. Price was right and I would definitely stay here again due to price, location, friendliness and cleanliness.

The pictures don't show how badly deteriorated and run down this place is. I wouldn't pay $30 a night to stay there. The room I got was about as run down as could be. Most the tiles in the bathroom were broken, the sink was cracked, the toilet lose, the toilet paper holder broken off the wall, carpet was ripped up by the door, a power strip over loaded with a TV, fridge, microwave and a light, partially hanging from the outlet and that is just what I saw in the first 5 minutes. Their were drunks sitting on chairs outside the rooms harassing people, people just loitering in the parking lot, and management didn't really seem to care.

The L Motel is OK

Cons: There was a lack of available power outlets The outlets in the bathroom only worked with the light switch on
Location: The location is great Walking distance to the downtown area Next door is a very good breakfast diner
They look like they are updating the motel. My room was clean and comfortable.

Old cheap motel that need much more renovation.

Pros: The desk clerk, a young man was very helpful and was the only part of the hotel that was pleasant.
Cons: I know that a portion of the population needs cheap, affordable housing, hotels. This is that place. The parking lot is too small. Got stuck 10 min.
Location: Near Northern Arizona University.
Picked this hotel trying to cut costs. The 3+ stars made me feel that it would be OK. First, I had trouble enterring the motel driveway just due to its location on a busy intersection. Pulled into an adjacent building parking lot and saw the exterior of the hotel on the non street side. I was shocked. It looked like a slum building. Missing boarded windows, debris and obvious structural discrepancies obvious to any passer- by. I got to the desk and the pleasant clerk was very helpful. Got my pickup truck parked with offered assistance from the clerk to park my small trailer in parking spot. Checked the room and was shocked. Fresh pain, and renovation but the room was unfinished. A GFCI outlet in the bathroom area was uncovered, exposing the terminals. The toilet was running constantly. I had to reach into the tank and re-attach the flap valve. There was a new shower tile installation and a nice shower head, but the bathroom door was filthy. I was tired from a 12 hour drive so the bed and relaxation was my only requirement. The TV had 4 or 5 permanent wide and thin vertical lines in the video. A quarter size blue blob in the screen center was permanent. The microwave oven had a burn through the door windor. The most disgusting item was a stain, brown and nasty on a pillowcase. Ite room smelled like sweat in some places, pillows head board. No alarm clock, no phone, and the security dead bolt would not engage the door frame. Stains on the carpet were also unhealthy looking.
