The rooms were not up to covid standard clean. It was musty, the remote had not been thoroughly disinfected and placed in a sealed bag. In addition when we turned on the heat/AC unit, the air quality was poor and smelled foul. This smell did not go away. Poor breakfast. We purchased items - coffee/tea each day at the nearby Starbucks.

We are not required to put remotes in sealed bags. We use an approved disinfectant to wipe down all surfaces of the guest room. We are also following all of Wyndham's guidelines for breakfast. Nice property, well maintained. My only issue was there was never anyone at the front desk. I always had to call '0' on a house phone or wait for someone to show up. Kind of weird,

While our guest service agent's first priority is the front desk, they also assist in other areas as we are a limited-service property. They will assist with extra computer work, help clean guestrooms, or in laundry; this is why they place a sign at the front desk - the sign lets guests know to call from the lobby phone in order to avoid waiting. We hope to serve you again next time you are in the area.

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience at Baymont by Wyndham Grand Rapids SW/Byron Center. I am sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations. We are continuously working to update the building. We have put over a million dollars into the hotel in the last 3 years; we completely renovated the building in 2016, including new flooring, new bed skirts, bed scarves, took down old border and repainted, new drapes, new desk chairs, new lampshades, and we completely redid our pool and hot tub; in the last few months, we replaced all lamps in all of our guestrooms. Unfortunately, the building is 15 years old, so it does take time to bring everything up to par. We appreciate the time you took to share your concerns, and it is our hope that you will give us another chance in the future.
