Slept on a heavily stained duvet for 2 nights. Stained were from other visitors of the hotel. The hotel obviously doesn’t wash their duvets daily. There were washed out stains and obvious soiling signs that were fresh. It was absolutely repulsive! When we informed the front desk, yes they did come and change out the entire room and gave us free parking and waived the $20 a night resort fee, but the fact that we slept with a dirty duvet, no compensation can take away the icky feeling. The second duvet they brought in was also stained. It wasn’t as heavily stained, but non the less it was still stained. When I checked out the manager was very rigid and cold. As if my inconvenience wasn’t something she particularly cared about. She never once apologized. When she was done printing out my bill, she looked away and didn’t even send me off with a “have a nice day.” Her motive was to get me out as soon as possible so that I wouldn’t make a scene, as there were other visitors in the lobby. It’s very unfortunate that this hotel has major housekeeping issues, because it’s beautifully located and has amazing views from the 5th floor rooms. I won’t be back. Such a disappointment.

The location could not be better ... In the center of La Jolla within walking distance to restaurants, shops, the beach and within easy driving (Uber) distance to downtown San Diego and the surrounding golf courses and the airport. The hotel staff is very pleasant and accommodating.

Very friendly and professional staff. Arrived early and requested early check-in but our room wasn’t ready. The staff felt bad that they couldn’t accommodate our request for early check-in and responded by going out of their way to see that we remained comfortable while positioned in their lobby while Front Desk staff awaited confirmation from hotel housekeeping that our room was ready for us to occupy. The staff at this hotel are collectively, a class act!

Lovely Hotel; Excellent Location

Pros: The hotel is beautifully decorated and our room was spacious and pretty.
Cons: Room was directly over the hotel's service alley. Restaurant delivery truck backed in and started unloading directly below our room at 5:06 am.
Location: Lots of fun shops, many catering to tourists nearby. Close to "Children's Pool" to see the sea lions.
I stayed one night while in town with my two children while we visited La Jolla.

Charming hotel

This was my 4th visit to this hotel! Great old building with some water views, pool, great restaurant and friendly staff. Location is terrific near shopping, galleries, and restaurants all within walking distance. Hope to go again! Thank you!
