It was called the palace, it wasnt. The pictures are misleading, what i asked for and what i got were two different things. Was promised a suite, sold out, called to confirm and tge staff blatantly lied to me, so i booked. No microwaves in the room, cloth shower curtains, the water ran cold for 30 minutes before it was hot, no one came to assist. Housekeeper walked in on my naked husband...after i said he was in the bathroom. Over priced foods, selection very small.what you pay and what you get are two different things. Not sure Black people were expected, damn near ran outta the small jacuzzi by an entire family. Maybe 4 comfortably add 5 adults and two kids. Couldve just asked ys to get out, that woukdve ended with the police being called. We know how that can turn out, we just left. I usually stay at The Hyatt, all sold out. Ill never make the mistake again unless its free and they make up. We were grieving and wanted to get away not to be sad during the holiday. Super disappointed.

Overall its a nice historic hotel with a very beautiful lobby. They seem to be significantly understaffed which lead to issues at check-in and the valet. Upon arrival at 4pm our room was not ready and 1 1/2 hours later we were still waiting. We finally received a room but it was not the upgraded room we booked online. The room itself is small, which is not unexpected in a historic property but it didn't have basic amenities either, such as power at the desk or a mirror in the room which made it challenging for two people to get ready at the same time. The hotel room was clean and the bed was comfortable however.
