The office did not have any drinks in the lobby. Not even water. The trash can on our floor smelled. When I checked in, my room did not have soap. THe window did not open well, so the room had a stale smell.

There are many wonderful hotels in La Jolla, this is not one of them. The only thing this hotel has is location; literally across the street from one of the best dive spots in California. The room had a lovely view, a broken sliding glass door that, with much effort, opened to a filthy deck with exceedingly uncomfortable chairs. Old, worn bed and barely functional bath facilities. As a guest I was invited to text the staff should I need anything. Great idea, however they did not respond to my requests, ever. Will not book here again.

Nice effort to upgrade, but mid construction at time of stay.

This was a filthy, overpriced, outdated dump! Save your money and go elsewhere. No elevator to any of the wood building rooms and no luggage help. Not only were the rooms/hotel outdated, it was dirty, dusty, and obviously not cleaned between guests

If we had gotten a room that was upgraded fully it wouldn’t have been so disappointing but we were in a 2 bedroom suit with one bath that needs an over haul and a sofa couch that is totally not suitable to sleep on. I went and bought a twin air mattress for one of my kids to sleep on . They are remodeling so in the future it may be better . Location is perfect though and we made the most of it. It wasn’t horrible just not what we had anticipated

My particular room was very small and had no heat or air conditioning. They did provide a small space heater. The bed was very good!

We upgraded our room to have a balcony but we were put in the back with a small balcony compared to the rest of the place

Because the building is older, you hear EVERYTHING. Every door, toilet flush, shower, people in the halls, people and kids in the park across the street until late night, patio doors opening and closing. Shower gets hot and cold every time someone else uses theirs.
