The room was dirty. The toilet was dirty or it had mold. One of the beds smelled of throw up. When we told the person at the front desk he ask did we try flushing it. Needless to say we will NOT be staying here ever again.

The hotel looked nothing like the photos online. The pool was closed and disgusting. The whole hotel looked disgusting. I asked for 2 beds and I got there and the only room they had was smoking and one bed, my son has asthma. The walls was disgusting. The room smelled. A lot of the curtains in the windows looked like they was once caught on fire. I had to buy disinfectant spray and a candle for my room, it was that bad.

I just want everybody to know how terrible my stay at the Econo lodge was. First of all when we first entered the room the carpet was filthy and there were stains all over the carpet. The room had no soap, no shampoo but did have a bottle of lotion. There were no tissues in the tissue box. I did wipe down all the surfaces with Lysol just in case the room was not cleaned you can see that there was stuff left under the bed. My husband had a hard time breathing in the room with his COPD and ended up spending most of the night sitting in the truck. It was so noisy that no one in the hotel I think could slept you could hear people banging in the doors because most of the doors did not close properly. We also saw cockroaches in the room, you half to keep the luggage and everything completely closed hoping not to bring anything home with us. So not having any sleep packing everything up and leaving at 5 AM with little/no sleep. Let’s gets say the experience was terrible, I have stayed at other Econo lodge’s before and I never had this experience before. I must say this was the worst experience I have ever had in any hotel in my entire life.

It's an old hotel that needs a lot of work. There was dog poop in the walkway, the bathroom was so small you couldn't sit on the commode and shut the door. It's loud with the rooms on each side, but over your head was worse. Don't ever want to go back.

Disappointing for a Days Inn.

Pros: Less than 30 minutes to get to Harkers Island and the Cape Lookout Ferry which was the purpose of our stay.
Cons: Think they need more staff.
Location: Go to Cape Lookout.
The bed was really small and the room wasn't cleaned / refreshed.

Low cost, low quality

Cons: Poor breakfast
Booked this hotel even after seeing some negative reviews because I knew it was just me. If my wife and children had been accompanying me, I would certainly have chosen somewhere else. Bed was hard, no fitted sheet. Instead a flat sheet was folded under and fit poorly. Toilet and shower needed scrubbing, both had grimy rings. Cabinets missing the pull handles. Soft spots in the floor. Needed to be aired out, had a musty smell that is certainly noticeable. Breakfast was sparse. If you want something other than bagel, muffin, or cereal you are out of luck.. It's an older hotel with a desperate need to be updated and repaired. If you're looking for a cheap place to save cash, this is it.

Cheap and not too nasty

For the price I felt this hotel was pretty good. Basic breakfast, but no nastys in the room and was a comfortable stay.
