The suites were spacious, neat,and clean. The staff was extremely friendly, the breakfast was great. The grounds of the property were clean for the most part. The contractors were repairing a some things on the inside of the hotel, and our elevator was being fixed so I had to walk up to the 4th floor and back down however the elevator was fixed by that same evening which was great. Thank you staff for a wonderful hotel experience.

Wonderful stay in Richmond

Pros: Breakfast, suppers, cooking facilities, staff, comfortable bed
Cons: Cracked shower-assumed there was water/mold in the walls. Living room furniture was worn and needs to be replaced. More dishes-serving bowl? Dishsoap?
We came to Richmond to visit the many National Park Civil War battlesites within a two hour radius of Richmond so we booked the Homewood suites. It was great to have a home base for the week. The morning breakfast was one of the most complete I have seen with tasty choices, and the dinner options Mon-Thur were surprisingly complete (not the appetizers I thought they would be). The food staff was friendly and helpful. The bed was very comfortable and I really appreciated the bedroom ceiling fan and the choice of pillows. The only negatives were that the bathtub shower walls were cracked, some of the living room furniture was a bit tired, and they didn't provide dishsoap to wash dishes. My husband, however, commented on the nice warm shower.

Spacious room

Our room was very spacious. We had plenty of room for our overnight stay with our large family. The room was clean, had plenty of amenities too. Our only complaint is a very small one. There was a strong smell of food in our room when we arrived. We adjusted after we were in the room a little bit. Other than that there was a loud noise that occurred every 45-50 minutes all night long. We thought it was the HVAC but it ended up being the ice maker in the room's freezer. It must be stuck in the on position permanently, because turning it off did not help. It doesn't make ice but makes a loud noise all night. It never quit. But otherwise we had a pleasant stay. The hotel staff was very helpful. Breakfast was nice too. Would definitely stay again....without the noise :-)

LOVE THIS PLACE!

Cons: none
LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! This place! The staff are awesome and always helpful. The rooms are always clean and tidy. Never feel like I have to "clean" before I stay. Everything is awesome from the joyous and happy to be alive greeting at breakfast to the "Good night" on our way through to the room in the evening. It's close to restaurants and shopping. It's far enough off the main drag that you don't hear traffic. Even the room across from the elevator was silent. My 3rd stay and I promise it won't be my last. Had to switch up our reservations not once but 3 times and each time the hotel went above and beyond.

ROACHES AND REMODELING

My coworker and I stayed only one night, thankfully. We were working at the desk in our room at night when I saw a roach crawl behind my suitcase and then behind the couch. We pulled out the couch and stomped on it. That morning she found one crawling in the bathroom. I went for my shower and when I opened the curtain there another big roach crawling on the bath mat (you will see picture - after we stepped on him). Finally, as we RAN to get out of our room and shut the door, another crawled down the door. 4 roaches in less than 12 hours. NO THANK YOU! The hotel is being remodeled, and the room appeared clean and nice...until the unexpected roaches arrived!!! We said something to the people at the front desk and they just shook their heads sadly...like they weren't surprised. DO NOT STAY!!

Sufficient

This is a classic business travelers suites hotel. It's right smack in the middle of a tech industrial park but close enough to Richmond proper for other travelers. It's clean with a friendly staff. The free hot breakfast was great.

Great Stay

I had a 4 night stay and I saw nothing wrong. I think this is the best place to stay in this area. This will be my visit for now on. I am bringing friends and family next time.
