This hotel was good enough. Bright spots were parking included and early check in. Not so bright spots were some problems with the physical plant -- one elevator not working and other VERY slow, and our toilet broke and we had to change rooms. The breakfast was adequate. But as we were walking distance from Lion's Head lift at high season, I'd stay again.

Unfortunately like many other properties here in Vail, we do not have air conditioning in the rooms since most of the time it is not needed. We do provide tower fans in all of our rooms as well as a box fan in the closet, also our windows do open, this combination makes for the room to cool down right away. We are happy to know everything else was great, our team works very hard to provide our guests with a wonderful experience. Again, our sincere apologies. Thank you for staying at The Evergreen Lodge.

Unexpected disappointment in Vail

Pros: Location
Cons: Staff needs to be more courteous.
Upon checking in to the Evergreen Lodge in Vail Colorado, I notified the front desk clerk that we had a change of plans and would need to check out a day early. This notification was given 48 hours in advance since we checked in on a Wednesday and out on a Thursday - plenty of time for the lodge to rent the room. I was told that since I did not give 24 hours notice I would have to pay for a room that I would not be sleeping in. This hotel is very outdated for the Vail experience - the staff was rude and unwilling to negotiate my stay. I understand the 24 hour notice, but I actually gave 48 hours.

Worst Hotel Staff Ever!

Cons: Customer service needs a complete overhaul.
We arrived at the hotel around midnight, and there was no one at the front desk. We tried calling the hotel phone number and walking around looking for any staff member. After almost an hour, the front desk employee finally came down the elevator with a couple of his friends. The only thing the employee did to try to make it right was waive the $15 resort fee. We left a voice mail for the manager that night and still haven't received a call back. There are a lot of other places to stay in Vail, avoid this place.

Good location for ski trip

Been here twice, once in the condo part of the building and once in the hotel part. I think the location is good, probably most affordable place that is walking distance to the slopes. An easy five minute walk to the lionshead gondola, located right next to the ice rink and the library. Probably a little Ruther walk fir people in ski boots than in snowboarding boots, though my the skiing companions didn't really complain. The bus stops in front of the library, so it is very easy to get to vail village as well (about tt 4 minute ride on bus, maybe 3 stops). Stayed here in 2013 and thought it was good, came back in 2015 and still feel it is a good location and value (Christmas week for 300 a night for 2 beds). Will definitely stay here again next time in vail.
