Thank you for staying at the Huntingdon Manor - we really appreciate your feedback and hope to welcome you back soon.

The room we were in had a loft. The kitchen and living room was on the main level and the bedroom was upstairs. It was very convenient when one person wanted to stay up and not disturb the other who was sleeping. The hotel was very close to the harbor.

Victoria's Buskers Festival

Pros: We loved the Victorian look and the beautiful grounds. The staff was congenial.
Cons: The drapes in the hotel room. There were wonderful room darkening drapes... that stopped about a foot from the floor letting in the light.
Location: We were within walking distance of the festival and all the wonderful shops and businesses. Also, just a block from the ferry terminal.
We went to the festival once before and really enjoyed it. It's a lot of fun roaming the town and being entertained by a variety of performers. We came over on the Blackball Coho ferry from Port Angeles and the Huntington Manor was located just down from the ferry terminal. We were drawn to the Manor by its beautiful Victorian building. The hotel is clean and the staff is friendly. The complimentary breakfast is average. Nothing spectacular, but was appreciated. We stayed in a king room with a balcony which was nice since it was hot and we were able to open the sliding door. It was unusually hot for Victoria during our stay. I am sure they don't normally need air conditioning. There was a floor fan in our room which we kept on the entire stay.

Over advertised and under achieving

The only thing that saves this rating from a 1 star is the staff who are adept at apologizing and trying to "make things right". When I reserved the room my reservation said "king bed, courtyard, balcony, sauna". The room I was given was on the first floor overlooking a street and another motel with a queen sized bed. I never did find the fabled sauna. When I complained I was moved (for another $15) to a "suite". This means the couch, bathroom and kitchenette are on the lower floor and the bedroom is in an open loft over the rest.During my stay I heard 2 other guests complaining about similar inflated promises. One guest stayed in the "bed and breakfast" section and was surprised to learn that means you eat at the motel restaurant in my building as part of your room. The breakfast was mediocre.

Very dated

The staff were very pleasant but the room was very old and outdated. The furnishings were old as well. We were told we were being upgraded to a suite so I was excited about that, however the bed was up some steep stairs and the bathroom was downstairs. Not very convenient. Old t.v. with no remote. Old coffee was left in the coffee maker.

Good location

Pros: Close restaurants, Free Internet, underground parking
Cons: some stairs to dining room
This is a decent hotel within walking distance of stores and tourist attractions. It has underground parking and is located 1 block from the Black Ball ferry. We didn't spend a whole lot of time in the room, but it was comfortable. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The dining room serves breakfast and lunch and other restaurants are very close by. Would definitely recommend if you come to Victoria without a car.

No Air Conditioning!!!

Old Hotel with dated rooms.  Hotel is not  air conditioned.  They provide a fan in each room.  Beds are hard as a rock and pillows are flat.  Water faucet in bathroom rattled and groaned when you turned it on.  Great location close to inner harbour.  Free wi-fi and free underground parking.
