Exactly what we were looking for - no crazy frills, but everything you need to enjoy a beach vacation. Friendly staff and very centrally located. The rooftop has a lovely view and you are steps away from the beach. For a lower budget option, Emperador rocks!

They failed to meet the standard we charged for,
We faced many problems with the disrepair of the suites which caused us a lot of grief. Here is a list of problems we faced. The first problem we encountered was we were eager for a nap after a long walk in the sun. When we got to the room the key card didn’t work. The light switch didn’t work in the bathroom so we had to use a flashlight. The drain leaked under the bathroom sink spilling water all over the floor. We told management about the leaky drain in the outdoor kitchen but nothing was done. One morning we were trying to boil water to make coffee but the rusty old stove didn’t work so we ended up having to go out to buy takeout coffee. The worst part of the whole ordeal was the ceramic tiles on the main part of the floor were buckling and badly cracked with bis of grout coming up through the tiles. They put down mats but that didn’t work. It buckled more and the tiles cracked more. It was super uneven, dangerous and scary to walk on. You could hear the tiles cracking when you walked on the floor. Another inconvenience was we agreed to leave at 11:00 for the day so they could fix the floor. When we got back they wanted us to switch rooms or go to another room to sleep because they didn’t want us to walk on the floor. We opted to move to another room because everything was dusty including our clothes. Finally when we got to the next room the internet didn’t work. Also the elevator didn’t work at least 3 times.

Good location, if you want to be in the Romantic zone. Area is noisy at night so avoid rooms facing the street close to ground level. Person at reception was helpful and gave us good recommendations on places to eat

A good choice for the Romántica zone, but note that there is NO POOL. Didn’t matter to me so I was happy with my choice. I did opt to upgrade from the standard room though… I initially got room 107. It was very clean and the beds seemed ok, but the noise from the street beside it was VERY loud. The room is also very small, not sure how well it would fit two people and all their luggage. Also, the air conditioner was old and in disrepair… it ratted noisily. If you’re a heavy sleeper you might not notice. But I needed quiet, so I upgraded to an Oceanside suite (rm 102). It was great! More comfy pillows than the standard room, and the blankets seemed newer and fluffier too. Note that the hotel does NOT provide bottled water. But there is an OXXO convenience store right across the street so it was no problem to get my own. The balcony was great… had a little kitchen out there, table and chairs for four. The room also had a nice big couch which looked like a trundle bed. Thanks very much to the helpful staff!
