Arrived to the hotel to be told that all rooms were rented out and we had to wait until a reservation was canceled in order to receive our room that we had reserved with a confirmation number.

I understand the property is being renovated, but that is not an excuse for room cleanliness. Our room was awful... bad smell, mildew in bathroom, loose and broken tiles, and debris from what looked like the textured ceiling being sanded all over the floor by the door. The hotel should either be closed during renovation or, at the very least, do it one area at a time and don't rent rooms in that area. I made the mistake of not reading the reviews and relying on the overall "very good" star ratings. Bad mistake. Rooms in this condition should be heavily discounted or not in use at all. The only reason I didn't ask for a refund leave is because we were exhausted from traveling.
