This stay was disappointing. I live on Cape Cod and have stayed in quite a few hotels in Boston, so I have a lot to compare the Godfrey to. After reading all the reviews and seeing that the rating was 9.4 I decided to book a room here for a romantic weekend in the city, and wish I had chosen a different property. The room was small, and nothing exciting about it. The whole property seemed tired and run down. Our Bose speaker didn’t work, our remote control didn’t work (no we didn’t come to watch tv, just an annoying observation), the toilet paper was ridiculously thin, our room looked on to an enclosed and very dirty area, and the restaurant in the photos seems very separate. You get a drink ticket upon check-in but it’s for this tiny, incredibly unappealing bar in their lobby, which is also not lovely. Everyone was very nice and friendly, always held the door, and the valet parking was convenient, but I won’t choose to stay here again.
