The 'Hot Springs' pools were an extra charge of $55 each! We saw nothing indicating this while booking, maybe it was in the fine print but should be communicated as thats the only attraction. The pool we had access to was filled with sediment and the hot tub was off.

Their system was down, we drove over an hour to get there, waited for over an hour to get a room, then the room they gave had people and a dog already in it, so we didn't even stay and cancelled our reservation. We have stayed there before and the property is nice and clean however there is always changes with systems, buyouts, etc and tons of mix-ups. A total waste of a hopeful romantic and relaxing weekend.

Location is great, amenities are great. I called for an early check in and was told that it was on a request and nothing is guaranteed. That was fine, however when I got to the resort the lady at the front desk knew nothing of my request for an early check in, and told me there was a $50 fee for early check in. When I called the day before for the early check in, no one said anything about a $50 fee, and my request was never submitted regardless.

Fun weekend to Lake Tahoe

Located in the very small mountain side city of Genoa. This comfortable good looking hotel was only a 40 minute drive to South Lake Tahoe (which was the reason for our trip), and a 25 minuet drive to its larger closest town of Carson City NV which has the must haves of Target, Costco, In-n-Out, etc. Great land scape with views from every room and full kitchen/dinning table was the selling point for my wife and I.

Loved it

Pros: Beautiful updated unit. Beautiful, beautiful country around, a nice change from right around Tahoe.
Cons: More dishes, pots etc. for cooking.
Location: We went to ski.
We just got a great deal online, and absolutely loved our gorgeous one bedroom apartment.

Beautiful, peaceful, clean, relaxing environment

As an old-time customer to the hot springs, I was worried about returning after 25 years to the new resort, thinking perhaps the unique charm of this area had been altered. I am so pleased to say that the aesthetics of the new resort have been carefully tailored to fit the natural environmental aesthetics of the area, at the Eastern side of the grand Sierra Nevada Mountains. The owners of Walleys did an outstanding job with the careful layout of the buildings, the esthetic furnishings of the rooms, the creation of the landscape (native, aromatic shrubs, and a small stream bubbling past our room.) The peace and serenity of the desert is respected and even the animals know it! We had deer join us on the walking path to the charming town of Genoa, and coveys of quail, cotton-tailed rabbits, all kinds of songbirds, and some interesting swimming creatures (river otter???) in the canal next to the nature path. The food was delicious in the restaurant, and the service was top-notch. Everything was quality and matched the grandeur of the desert without grandiosity. Well-done and bravo to the owners and designers of this lovely resort. Perhaps the best part of all was the reasonable rate on the comfortable,well-equipped rooms, and the close proximity to Tahoe, just 15 minutes away. I loved it here so much that I am planning to return next July with as many of my Northern California Tai Chi students as possible. We plan to add our Tai Chi movements to the gentle atmosphere of this natural healing oasis.

The fee to use the pool is ridiculous...

Resort is in pretty OK condition. I understand to charge to use the pool if you DO NOT stay at the resort! If you stay there it shoud be FREE. Plus the pools are in desperate need of remodel. If you need more towels you pay ! There is NO cleanning while you are there...exept 1 a week if you stay there for that long. The restaurant though is really nice! Tablecloth and all! I might think of going back if they drop the pool fee.... there is nothing ealse there so you need the pools... Hope the resort gets the message.
