Rundle Cabins-need upgraded

Pros: Nothing.
Cons: Need to do major upgrades, unless you want 1950 vintage cabins with the furniture, fixtures & cracked & uneven floors.
Location: Near Banff National Park - Lake Louise & Lake Morraine, Shopping & all services in Canmore, AB - Rundle Cabins at Exit 83.
Rundle cabins in major need of upgrades. Cracked & uneven floors, dirty waste bins on the inside. Small metal enclosure for shower, no space in bathroom, dirty pillows on couch. Vintage 1950's furniture & fixtures. $100 deposit required for pet, still waiting for refund. Owner s/b concerned with upgrades & not charging $100 deposit for pet. Definitely, not worth the money. Stay in Canmore, with clean room accommodations. Rundle cabins at Exit 83, just a few miles North of Canmore. 1 bedroom cabin, had bed in a closet with 3 walls surrounding, no space to walk around, so 2nd person would have to crawl over to get out of bed.

Pros: Location and ease of access.
Cons: Replace the carpet and couch. Add window screens and screen door. Dust for cobwebs on the ceiling and lights. Cabins need painting.
This recommendation is for a particular type of traveler. The cabins are quaint, old and in need of some maintenance and upkeep. Our cabin had windows that open, but they didn't have window screens to keep the bugs out nor a screen door, which would have been useful for air ventilation. The kitchenette had minimal utensils, cookware and dishes. Coffee pot, toaster and microwave available. Carpet left something to be desired. Definitely rustic, but a really good location with great access to the highway. Banff is about 17km away; Canmore is 4km away and can be accessed by the frontage road. Closest fuel, dining and groceries is Canmore and is definitely less crowded than Banff. Some cabins, to include ours, could not be approached by vehicle. This was a cabin experience, not a hotel. Enjoyed it nonetheless.

Romantic getaway

Pros: The value for the price point. Wood burning stove helped to make our stay warm and cozy.
Cons: The bathroom was very small...
Location: Location was exactly what we needed. Close enough to Banff to get in and out without much trouble at all.
We were able to check in a bit early to start off our romantic weekend. This gave us time to spend in Banff which is only about 15-20 minutes away and a very easy commute to the fun that awaits there. Don't expect any frills at these chalets, but if you are looking for a reasonable priced quaint and romantic setting then you should consider staying here. The kitchen and bathroom are very small but the main room was spacious and warm with the wood burning stove in the corner. Our Chalet was clean and inviting. (Just don't think rich and expensive - more modest and cozy)

Not as advertised.

Pros: Almost nothing.
Cons: Almost everything.
Cramped, basic cabin was old, dark, damp, musty, under-sized and overpriced. We felt uncomfortable and cheated.
