The staff I met upon check-in were very friendly and accommodating. The room was very spacious, clean and well-appointed. The bed & pillows were super comfy. It was extremely quiet & peaceful in the lodge I stayed in. I had the included breakfast 2 mornings. It was a nice, full breakfast buffet. The restaurant dinner I had was delicious. The property was a little hike to most everything. But, it's a beautiful mountain road drive to get wherever you want to go It was a lovely property. I will definitely stay again.

Forest Hills Mountain Resort was spread out, but quaint and tranquil. My friend and I got lucky and had our lodge to ourselves until our last night there. Our room was a lot bigger than we thought it would be for our girl's trip, but the bathroom was small and cold (we kept the heat on and kept the door open when not in use to warm the bathroom). The property is super close to the Amicalola Falls State Park. A little farther away is the town of Dahlonega which is beautiful and also quaint. Southern Living magazine has listed Dahlonega as a perfect Christmas town.

Was very romantic. Staff was very friendly. The only complaint was it was supposed to be a very quiet kid free weekend before school starts back but there was a group there that had probably 20-30 kids and my wife and I both got ran into on kids riding bicycles while walking to and from the restaurant.

The cabin we got was not the one we paid for via Travelocity. Hotel explained that they cannot honor rooms if purchased via a third party vendor. The rest of the property is a 2 or 3 star property. Needs better maintenance.

I apologize if anyone on our staff said that to you. We always honor the room or cabin type that was purchased. Since we have a variety of accommodations sometimes guests see one thing but actually book something different. It's important when booking online that close attention is paid to that in order to avoid disappointment. We are a family owned and managed business and want all of our guests to have the best experience possible.

Mountainous, wooded hotel

Pros: The quiet atmosphere. The food service. The clean room and jacuzzi.
Cons: Instructions on how to use the shower. Laundry facilities for longer stays.
Location: Location was isolated but there were nearby wineries and horseback riding options.
Truly a unique experience given the location of this hotel as advertised in a quiet area. The cabins were spaced to allow maximum privacy. The room was laid out nicely with patio doors offering a magnificent view of the surrounding terrain. The only issue (and not the hotel's fault) was a somewhat painful insect bite as I sat on the patio enjoying the surroundings. The food at the restaurant was excellent including the breakfast. I would have to rate this establishment at the top of my list of hotels I stayed at during my life time for price, comfort and cleanliness. The problem is that this a vacation or a business retreat center and would not be practical for urban business due to the distance to major cities.
