A decent hotel, if you pick the right room.
The Grand is a lovely old hotel with echoes of Brighton's boom period. The architecture is a thing to behold and the staff are very friendly. The Cyan cocktail bar in the lobby was accommodating with friendly bar staff. The room (207) itself was a decent size but a little tired. Like the stairways with strips of tape holding some of the carpets in place, it's an odd mix of feeling renovated in areas and ignored in others. The shower was missing the lever for turning the water flow on and the shower head was a little low for me. Also, when the listing says inland view, there's no debating that point, as you'll see from the photo attached. Overall, a good stay but it would be better to avoid those "inland views".
