Great staf

Feb 25, 2020

There was an incident on the plane. A 19 year old person had a siezer. The staff was very helpfull and the Houston paramedics arrived promptly. The flight was delayed for an hour, but with good reason. Some of the free direct TV;s did not work on certian seats. Mine worked fine. $10 for a not too good hamburger was a bit pricey. Anyhow, I'll give the flight a 8.5 out of 10.

Feb 23, 2020

Seats in that plane need to be recushioned. My butt hurts

Feb 22, 2020

AC spit tiny bits ice on me during take-off. Bit of a rough flight but great crew.

Places to visit in San Juan

World-famous attractions can look awesome online, but there's nothing quite as exciting as witnessing them in person. When you're in San Juan, make sure you visit San Juan Cathedral and the San Juan Gate — they really will knock your socks off!

The Puerto Rico Convention Center and Castillo de San Cristobal are some notable places that all keen sightseers should make time to see. Plan out a route and spend a couple of hours stopping by each one.

Travelers and locals alike always admire the historic La Fortaleza - Palacio de Santa Catalina. Arrange a tour to get a closer look. Need some more options? Time spent admiring Alcaldia will provide you with insight into the general history and civic character of this destination and its people.

How to get through airport security fast when traveling to San Juan

Make your journey to San Juan a little easier by following these useful security tips:

  • Be sure you know the whereabouts of your travel ID and boarding pass. You don't want to hold up the queue when you're asked to present them.
  • Be aware that metal belt buckles can set off the body scanner's alarms. If you're wearing one, you may be instructed to step back and take it off before proceeding.
  • Electronic goods such as tablets, laptops and phones are always sent through the X-ray machine separately. Be sure you can get to them quickly.
  • Flying with your favorite cologne or perfume? As long as it's no larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) and it's stored in a clear resealable plastic bag, you can keep it in your carry-on luggage.
  • Airport security personnel may instruct you to take off your shoes for the body scanner. Wear a pair that you can take off easily. There's nothing worse than having to do up your laces again and again.
  • Some destinations have stringent biosecurity laws. Consider where you're off to and whether or not you can travel with unpackaged foods.

Since the island is a United States territory, it offers American convenience wrapped in sunny 80-degree weather and colonial Spanish culture.

Transportation from SJU

Taxi turisticos line up outside the terminals to meet arriving San Juan flights, and they use set fares to San Juan hotels by Luis Munoz Marin Int'l or to travel within the city. Larger hotels, especially those outside town, may send shuttles to you; you can also rent a car from kiosks in the airport. Expect to take free transportation to pick up your vehicle, since it will be parked away from the terminals, and remember that limos fitting up to six passengers are also available; their drivers will meet you outside baggage claim. Those with lots of time and little money can take the 40 or 45 bus to Isla Verde and the 5 bus to Old San Juan. After you've settled into your room, take a tour of the historic area, or relax on the beaches of casual Ocean Park, happening Condado, or family-friendly Escambron.
