The property’s common space was charming when construction finally stopped. The room was poorly maintained with an aged sofa bed, leaky ceiling on rainy days, broken faucet and older beddings all in the Junior suite. The room service was subpar along with restaurant services in general. The pool was very small big enough to fit 5 average sized individuals comfortably. The views were beautiful in the common areas not in the rooms. Management handled concerns poorly in general. I would not recommend staying as a guest visiting the lobby is good enough.

El Convento is wildly overpriced. Historic, yes, but luxury, no. The dipping pool is lovely, the rooms are comfortable. Bathroom felt dated. Service was meh. No door greeter, no porter, had to call/ring/wait for attendant to check in/out. No self-coffee service in the guest terrace on our second day. No service for drinks anywhere we could find, no room service. Just no SERVICE. Housekeeping was efficient but failed to provide a fresh/replacement washcloth on our second day. No room tag for DND or Housekeeping. No blanket on the bed or in the room, glad we could turn the AC down/open a window. The whole hotel felt weirdly empty. The beach club is simply access to the Courtyard Marriott in Isla Verde next to the airport. Apparently it used to be a hotel in Condado, but wherever that was is no longer a partner. Nice beach but nothing special. It was a handy place to spend the afternoon before flying home to avoid the CRAZY gridlocked afternoon traffic in Old San Juan.

Beautiful quiet hotel in the heart of Old San Juan. Shops, bars and eateries are all close by . Staff super friendly . Modern bathroom.

Loved the hotel old world feel. The fact there is a workout room, pool, bar, and atm are a plus. The bed was comfy and the staff extremely polite and helpful. I was disappointed the hair dryer and phone didn't work and the wifi and TV connection were slow or did not connect. It was due to upgrades that halted due to the pandemic. My reservation came with a complimentary drink and hors d'oeuvres which I never received. Otherwise this hotel is centrally located and in walking distance to several attractions. I highly recommended it. A beautiful hotel...
