Welcome to Straightstone in Old Virginia. Whether it's Liberty University events or other reasons drawing you to the Lynchburg area, LU alum Rebecca and her husband Bob welcome you to the peace and tranquility of life in a handsomely refurbished historic country colonial home built in 1800. Set in Amish country, Straightstone is 30 miles south of Lynchburg easily accessed from State Route 29. This 4400+ sq. ft .period masterpiece including 5 beautifully appointed bedrooms is occasionally also made available for special events including weddings, parties, and bar mitzvahs.
Whether you book one of our 4 upstairs colonial period bedrooms or the entire 5 bedroom house, you'll find Straightstone to be a quiet retreat offering the relaxed Southern charm of yesterday's plantation life. Walk the property grounds and enjoy the crisp country fresh air and the calm afforded by the pastoral and wooded views from two expansive, connected outdoor patio decks with abundant seating. Rent the entire home and enjoy a private evening beside our large field fire pit. Whether you book the entire home or a room you'll have access to our cozy propane fueled fire pit on the concrete patio deck.
Restaurant dining is plentiful in nearby quaint Altavista and Lynchburg. Rustic "on-the-go" or dine-in breakfast and lunch are also available in Mt. Airy's "mom and pop" diner around the corner.
