Nice hotel near H-gate town centre, family suite

Pros: It location and (pay) car park made it easy to see Harrogate's sights on foot and visit further afield in a rented car.
Cons: Include wi-fi repeaters on both sides of a thick stone support wall and replace the sofa beds with newer ones
Location: Located near Harrogate Town Centre, driving distance/bus/train to Fountains Abbey, York, Leeds, Hadrian's wall, etc
Overall this room was a comfortable room for the adults. It was a family suite with an adjoining door between one larger room and a smaller room. I really appreciated the separate rooms for kids and adults (could put them to bed, but have the adults stay up later). The parent's room and bed were spacious and comfortable, but in the kids room, they had to use a sofabed, which was pretty awful. It was old and rolled both of my kids toward each other as the mattress and support structure were shot. My kids (9yo & 5yo) complained every night on having to sleep there, so I cant imagine having older kids or a couple needing to use this sofabed. Second issue was that the wi-fi repeater was in the kids room on the other side of a 3 foot thick stone wall, so we did not have reliable wi-fi signal in the parents room and had to sit in the kids room to get wi-fi service without significant dropouts (this took us 2 days to figure out why our wi-fi wasn't working when the rest of the hotel was fine). I loved the location, it was at the bottom of the hill in Harrogate, but centrally located to the entire town & train station & close to Victoria Gardens which now features a really nice kids' playground. We rented a car and had no issues parking in the car park, plenty of space there. The towels were lovely (extra large about the size of a beach towel) and the showerhead was just like the one we had when we lived in Harrogate, somewhere a tad more than a gentle rain. overall, great value
