The grounds were gorgeous. The lobby and adjacent rooms were unique. Disappointed in our room, not because of comfort, cleanliness ,or bath room, but: The room had a musty smell, like an old bungalow (which it had been), lighting was poor, and noise from adjacent pool and hot tub loud until 10 PM. AND- On our arrival Hawaii was experiencing the worst weather event in 35 years. Check in was adequate and, we were given a letter by the Lumeria, stating to stay at hotel until following morning No one came around to update us. There was a power outage and my husband (now 70) had to walk back to check in and ask for a flash light. . When we went into restaurant, the chef was kind but suggested dinner might not be served. At no time that afternoon or evening, did someone from management call in to ask about our well-being or offer suggestions for alternate dining.
