We loved the room and garden right outside the door. The breakfast was great, nothing huge but a good start to our day! My only complaint was the street noise was loud at night.

Would not recommend
So I thought it would be this cute and comfy place to stay. It was kinda cut but all furniture was wicker, like it was meant to be outside. The bed was hard as a rock and felt like sleeping on a box spring. The patio was just a little quad where everyone could go with little tables, no privacy. The window door that opened to the patio had very light curtains and little blinds so light just poured in. Would not recommend. The location and staff were nice.

The property itself is very nice. It was clean, and the staff was friendly. The major issue was no access to a front desk or employee. The empty room next to use had an alarm that went off at 5:55AM, and there was no way to find someone to enter and turn it off. We ended up getting up and leaving to get away from the noise. I did call the number listed, and left a message, and never heard anything regarding it. We never get to sleep in, so it was tremendously disappointing to be awoken so early with no solution. I realize it is a fluke situation, but it ruined an expensive night away.

Did not like anything about this property. The room we stayed in had a broken toilet and leaked all over our belongings and we didn’t stay because our clothes were soiled by dirty toilet water. We checked in at 1pm went to Monterey bay aquarium all day returned around 5:30 used the toilet once and it had a major leak and we left at 7pm. Worst hotel I have ever stayed at.

Location, location, location
I was in town for a business convention and did not want to stay in the generic large hotel chain so I found Merritt House and it could not be more convenient! It's a way to get away from the convention crowds yet still be very close.
