Not a good value for the price
We were very disappointed in our so-called suite for five people. The furniture is very old and uncomfortable. The appearance of the rooms is old and unattractive. There was a table for two, not five. You couldn't open the blinds all the way to the walls, so instead of being sunny and bright, the room was gloomy. The fabric on the sofa was torn. The wood trim around the bathroom door is in horrible shape. A brand new TV, but it hadn't been programmed yet. However, the staff were very nice, and breakfast was excellent. The mattresses were OK.

I stayed off season, this is in the heart of the busy area during peak season in Myrtle, so it may be a little different or very crowded during peak season. The seasonal bar and restaurant is closed, for example, but it looks nice. This hotel is directly on the beachfront. Room was pretty clean, nice and comfortable. Gorgeous views. Kitchen was a huge plus (fridge, counter, microwave and oven) and parking was convenient (off season) Main drawback is that the resort is split into a few buildings on the same block so the continental breakfast isn’t directly in the building but right across the street. Not a huge deal, but takes away some of the convenience factor. Also, the stairs are not accessible going up from the lobby, the door only opens on the exiting side from the stairwell so you can go down from upstairs but not up on the steps. It also looks like the pool is a wading pool, not swimming. The backyard and view of the ocean from the hotel is fantastic.

Where life turns happy again!
Last year was our first time to stay at the Dayton House and it felt like traveling with friends. We wondered if it would be the same and it was. The entire staff is friendly and caring. Their smiles make it all the way to their eyes. Our tv was not working so on the way to breakfast we told the office. When we returned it was fix and running perfect. If you want a happy, relaxing, no stress holiday, go to the Dayton House.
