"We liked Cabana. They completely nailed the Mid Century theming (although not my favorite). Food was good-to very good and reasonably priced. Cafeteria style dining which also fits the theme and keeps prices lower. Bus transportation to/from Universal Studios was excellent. Boat option nearby. The pool area with the lazy river was excellent and fun. Great poolside snack and drink options. Our room was always spotless. Elevators between floors are super fast. A conveniently short and safe walk into Volcano Bay from the hotel property. Check in and out was excellent. Our only complaints would be 1)coffee not available before 7am (in room coffee maker- No thanks). 2)walk across the street to Sapphire hotel to catch the boat is a long and out-of-the-way walkway. This is done for safety crossing the street but it was kind of a pain. However, it is a very reliable option and is about the same time of travel (typically 20-30min) as the bus. Hot tips: pool access and luggage storage is available all day regardless of when you check in or out. As a Cabana Guest, you can use ANY of the nearby Loews hotel pools. Just pick up a day pass at the concierge desk. Purchase the Cabana Bay travel mugs and you can get unlimited fountain drinks during your stay and water at Universal. I recommend the walking path along the boat canal. It’s very nice and not that far from Universal. The boat and canal walk get you much closer to the parks and include the quickest security check. "
