When we entered our room after check in we noticed a mini shop vac in the bathroom and a pile of towels pressed up against the foot of the patio door. The restroom was also used and lacking toiletries.

Great location in Carmel. Very close to the Mission and the small shopping center, the crossroads. The Hotel is very pretty and friendly.

We were placed in a room facing shopping center right across the street with Irish pub that plays life music till 1am. It might have been ok if you are a couple and staying there for a get away, but we have young kids who complained about the noise from the life music, which literally felt like the concert is right in your room! That's how loud it was.
