I booked a fireplace room. The fireplace in room 16 does not operate. With thermostat cranked to its highest setting, the fireplace did not ignite. Check-in is a business envelope taped to the office door with the room key and a note about how to operate the inoperable fireplace. There is no in-room coffee. Hot water was good and bathroom vanity looks newish. Bed was good, pillows less so. Plastic packets of shampoo, like the ketchup packets at a fast food chain and bars of soap so tiny you can hardly hold them. I've stayed in a lot of economy lodging. And the price for Carmel is affordable. I will likely spend a few more bucks the next time I come. I cannot recommend the Wayfarer. Oh, and I'd like my room discounted because of the inoperable fireplace.

I called 6 times to tell them we’re late because of traffic. No one answered and no answering machine. I had to contact expedia. They were very helpful but couldn’t contact facility. No microwave or coffee maker in room. The coffee in the office was bad. I don’t recommend this inn

The wrought iron around the bed gave me a big bruise, I hit my leg on it like 3 times, furniture needs updated, iron also didn’t work, and no coffee or tea in the room, and the plug to the bath wouldn’t go down, it was near everything close to the beach and stores.
