Awful host interaction
In the listing it says you need to provide ID. There is no way to attach a photo in the inbox feature and no e-mail and the host didn’t reach out regarding the situation until day of. I ended up having to send my id to customer service and have them forward it to her.
The worst part of my experience was the assumption the host made of me bringing “unauthorized guests” instead of just reaching out to inquire about their concerns. My friend and I rented a room each and came down from Oregon together. I rented my room for two people knowing my brother would want to crash with me there since he lives in Yuba city and I wanted more time with him. Apparently the host saw me and my friend (WHO RENTED HER OWN ROOM) arrive at the same time and my brother pull up behind us. He accidentally parked in front of a no parking sign but moved his car when he noticed. Then we were on our way to go out when I recieved phone calls back to back from VRBO saying I was going to get kicked out and I had multiple violations and when I tried to explain the situation they wouldn’t let me talk. The host had apparently texted me about the “guest” and parking and finally relented after I explained the situation. Even so it made my brother so uncomfortable he refused to stay and I only got to see him for one day while I was down. I was in town to visit my dying grandpa and this entire experience just added more stress to the situation. I felt like I had to be super careful the entire time.
