The front desk staff was pleasant but not friendly. I was also very disappointed that Ochoa was closed for a wedding. Part of the charm of HH is ocho and I would have booked another weekend.

Hi David, thank you for taking time to write a review for us. I would love an opportunity to discuss with you who you came into contact with and find out what happened to not provide you a friendly experience. I apologize that we did not get the information to you about Ocho being closed for a wedding ahead of time. We typically notify guests in their arrival email ahead of time, so I apologize that we fell short of supplying you that information. We did have room service available in the evenings, and hope that you were able to join us for brunch on Sunday in the restaurant! I hope that we can be of service to you again in the future.

Concert at the Majestic Theater six blocks away.

Pros: It was historically quaint with a great location but a feeling of seclusion. An adjacent in/out parking lot was very convenient.
Cons: N/A
Location: Everything you would want to do is eight blocks or less.
100+ year old hotel with loads of history, basement bar and restaurant overlooking the Riverwalk. It was very homey, like borrowing a big bedroom of a really old relative but the room had a bathroom, good TV and a refrigerator. We will be back!

Thin walls and noisy floors

Nice location and hotel has charm. Having said this we were just not comfortable there. Our room was next to their nightclub where we were forced to listen to a band destroy the well known songs they tried to perform. Persons in the room next door watched TV until 3 in the morning and it sounded like their TV was in the room with us. A chair in the bedroom and a box of tissues would have been nice. Will not stay there again.

Historic Hoel

Pros: Nostalgic feel with a classic cuban theme
Cons: I would probably improve by adding a pool for swimming at this property.
Location: It is situated downtown near the riverwalk which is great because you can walk anywhere.
I truly loved this hotel. It had great character and you could feel the age but was nicely cleaned up and was very comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel for a romantic get away. Awesome!

Great stay, food and atmosphere!

Pros: Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet
We have been wanting to stay at this hotel for the past 2 years now, and finally made it happen. This hotel highly exceeded our expectations. All the staff were extremely friendly, and were always willing to help with questions. The breakfast was outstanding in the OCHO Lounge. The banana bread and homemade tortillas were the best I have ever had in my life. My husband is a chef, so when we go out to eat he is a huge food critic, and he LOVED the food! The only thing I would recommend, is if you are looking for a quieter room, I would request one on the top floor, as this is an old hotel and the hard would floors tend to squeak. Other than that, we had a fabulous stay and will definitely be back!
